BioAgora is inviting experts on research prioritisation and consultation methods to join an expert panel to respond to a European Commission (EC) knowledge request and develop a framework for prioritising biodiversity knowledge gaps.
The EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 commits the EC to developing a Long-term Strategic Research Agenda for Biodiversity under the Horizon Europe programme. This agenda will guide research & innovation priorities to help halt and reverse biodiversity loss. To support this, the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) has submitted a request through the ticketing system of the Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD) to identify and prioritise key biodiversity knowledge gaps based on existing literature and consultation with the scientific community. Selected experts will participate in the process from April to September. They will work on an Independent Expert Report listing key knowledge gaps and related research questions based on agreed impact criteria. The work will involve an initial quick scoping of literature, followed by a wider expert consultation.
If you have expertise in research prioritisation and/or consultation methodologies and would be interested to contribute to the development of a Long-term Strategic Research Agenda for Biodiversity in the future Horizon Europe programme, please apply through the following form . The deadline to apply is 26 April 2026.
