BioAgora’s partner Eklipse has launched a call for peer review and open consultation on a new request on site-specific conservation objectives for marine biodiversity. The initiative connects science and policy to create a framework for site-specific conservation objectives, enhancing protection and recovery in such habitats

The request aims to establish a blueprint for site-specific conservation objectives - clearly defining what needs to be protected and how as well as enhancing more targeted and effective biodiversity action across Natura 2000 marine areas.

Eklipse is now inviting experts across disciplines to review the draft Methods Protocol developed by its Expert Working Group. This is an opportunity to influence how knowledge is synthesised in this field, as the protocol identifies key research gaps and outlines the methodological approach that will guide the entire process. By contributing with expertise, participants help in ensuring comprehensive, transparent and policy-relevant outcomes.

Researchers in marine ecology, biodiversity conservation, and related fields are encouraged to access the call, review the Methods Protocol and submit feedback by filling the Eklipse form, helping define conservation objectives and inform effective measures for protecting marine habitats and species. The deadline to contribute is 20 April 2026.
